See the lovely little wristlet? I've been trying to match a pair of boots and although it took forever, I found something! But, I digress....
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a shopper...a true hustler and bargain hunter. I love taking what I already have and throwing in a new piece here or there because it creates several different looks.
As anyone who follows me on Twitter knows, I have been on the hunt for the perfect white blouse and although I've come across many, I have yet to find the perfect one.
Recently, a very well-dressed acquaintance who is about my size was wearing a white blouse under a blazer and upon further inspection, I realized that it was perfect for me. I started out by complimenting her and asking her if she purchased it recently. The compliment was well received and she advised mr that she purchased it the week before. Taking it a step further, I explained my white blouse quest and inquired where she purchased this particular blouse. She nicely decline to share, explaining that she hates when people have the same items that she does. Ooooooookay....
This is slightly understandable when it comes to unusual items however a white blouse is pretty well...pretty vanilla? It can be dressed up, down, worn alone, under jackets, with pearls, with gold, with silver, etc. My point is by the time I finished accessorizing it when wearing, it would like quite different from the way she was wearing hers. She and I do not work together and only see each other two or three times per month. I rarely wear the same article of clothing the same way so the possibility of she and I showing up somewhere looking like twins? Slim to none.
I didn't explain this to her and instead shrugged it off. And the white blouse quest continues.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you share the whereabouts of shopping finds or do you keep the places you shop under your hat?

Hello Kitty!!!! Oh yeah, I'm back!

  Your girl MrsS has been MIA for a loooong time but I am back for good. I have had soooo much going on in addition to being a wife, mommy, sister, daughter, and friend! Things have slowed down and I have really missed everyone. The emails, etc. were greatly appreciated! It feels good to be loved.

Okay being the girlie girl that I am, your girl Mrs S loves some makeup. Plus, I have and always have had an obsession with Hello Kitty. A HUGE obsession...started when I was about 7 or 8 and continued to grow. My high school boyfriend graduated ahead of me, joined the Marines, and guess what he started sending me from Japan? That's right! Still have most of that stuff to this day. So when MAC (and you guys know how I feel about MAC) announced the Hello Kitty Collection, I went nuts. I saved my little coins so that I could satisfy that Kitty Hunger. Mr S told me that he thought it was silly for Hello Kitty to have lipsticks when she doesn't have a mouth ::::silence:::: Anyway, the line was supposed to be available later on this week but I got a phone call last night from my MAC girl....I made it to that store in a few minutes flat. It's been a battle to keep Itty Bitty away from MY stuff (she is also a huge H.K. fan at the ripe old age of two) but check it out....

New 'do

My wonderful stylist Vanessa snapped this after she worked her magic. It will take some getting used to but I'm digging it overall. Mr S kept throwing hints about me getting a bob... do ya think it's because his imaginary girlfriend Jennifer Hudson is currently sporting one? And TIH, before you ask, no I AM NOT trying to compete with her!

Too Cool

Do you guys remember these? Yes, it is a ViewMaster! It looks dfferent from the ones that you and I had but man oh man. I can remember spending what felt like hours, lying on my back with this pointed at the light. We found these at Target and my kids cannot put them down. In the days of Videogames and zero creativity/imagination, these are still so cool!

Here is my Honey!

MrSaditty and I have a long standing tradition. Every Friday or Saturday afternoon, he comes thru the door, dragging and dog dead tired. I rush upon him because I know that he has "It". "It" started out as flowers or a good bottle of wine which was cool but grew kinda old. I challenged him to change "it" and ever since then, I look forward to my weekends. It has grown from flowers and wine to Japanese bubblegum, a vintage New Edition poster (complete with autograph from RBRMR), a Chicago live CD, a Pink Bible...the list goes on and on. This weekend, he brought these home...Honeycombs! had not had honey straight from the comb since I was a little kid. I plan on enjoying these babies with Tea and toast and anything else that I can think of. I love my man but most of all, I live for and love the teeny tiny things that he does for me. Big, shiny, materialistic things fade away but the little gestures make like that much sweeter. Remember that!

To Live and DYE in La

Who would've ever imagined that at the ripe old age of 34, MrsSaditty would be potty training two babies and dying her hair. The first I can deal with but the gray? The world just ain't big enough for both of us. They've been here since I was 11 and I've always been a hide or dye chick.

Yesterday, a coworker said, "MrsSaditty, that patch of gray makes you look so wise and mature." At quitting time, I blazed a hot trail to CVS. I had an early night last night but woke up with dying on my mind. I can't let them win...not yet anyway.

Jeans that Compliment Your Genes

It's no secret that I was not blessed with a Serena Williams body (I guess HE wanted me to have heart and brains...lol). I have a kangaroo pouch, no hips, average thighs and legs, and a flass...yeah, noassatall. There are tons of slacks out there to suit me but jeans have always been an issue. The pants in my closet range from a 14 to an 18. The 18 is what I am most comfortable in however I do have many good days where I can wear a 16. The 14s are reserved for those months when I commit to Weightwatchers or low carb eating (yeah, I am in denial and refuse to give them away).

My work place recently transitioned from business to business casual to dressy casual (during the summer months) and jeans have been my thing. The big problem has been finding them.

If they fit in the waist and tummy, then the butt and thigh area is saggy. I used to love GAP but recently, they have given into the low-rider trend (a no-no for me and my absent booty). I purchased a pair of these so-called "tummy tuck jeans" made by Not Your Daughter's Jeans and they are wonderful HOWEVER, at over a C-Note a pop and 6 other people to shop for, I am highly unlikely to purchase another pair anytime soon.

A very pretty and plus reader turned me on to Calvin Klein Women's jeans and I cannot tell a lie, they are simply the bomb! Nice, affordable, and durable (you can wash the heck out of them), they make me feel----fine? Fine... Yeah, and don't laugh! They remind me of the old school Calvins...after you wear them a few times, they sort of mold to fit your body. They stretch where they should stretch and tighten up where you need it. And since the stores that carry them (Macy's, Dillards, etc) are always having sales, I was able to purchase two more pairs with different legs and washes.

Does anyone have knowledge of any other jeans that a gal like me may enjoy?

Okay, I am not a cereal person but this is my new passion. I've been eating it dry and with yogurt. It is like heaven! Ok, go back to enjoying you Saturday. ::::crunch, crunch::::

The Perfect White Shirt

I have been on a search for the perfect white shirt for what seems like forever. I have found a few that have come close but they still fell kinda short. The perfect white shirt can be worn to work, worn on date night...worn just about everywhere. I came across this one today:

GAP is awesome...the website always has my size in stock (the stores have very limited larger sizes). I am counting the time until this comes in! It's part of GAPs new Design Editions and is designed by Ban of Outsiders. I'll remember to take pictures in it once it comes in.

....just in case this shirt is not what I consider perfect, if anyone runs across a wonderful white shirt in xl, please forward it to me!

I'm a MAC addict!

Like most Southern girls, I started using make-up in high school. Every few months, my mom would take me over to the Fashion Fair counter and we would get the things that the cosmetician sales girl said I needed. After looking like an absolute mask for a few years, I moved on to Clinique. I've tried several brands and Clinique to this day remains a favorite. In the late 90s, I was turned on to MAC and have been an addict ever since!

I've used tons of their products over the years and am addicted to their lipglass and lustres. My current favorite product is the 169 Angled Brush and the highligh/shade kit shown here:

You can really change looks with this baby! You can slim the nose and face by highlighting and shadowing. Even razor sharp cheekbones can be "created" with a few strokes of the brush. (Pssst! This is also great for semi-camoflauging a double chin)

Their products (especially pigments) have a million uses each. Special shouts out go to Divine @ the MAC counter in Mall of Acadiana and the entire MAC staff @ the Mall of Louisiana. They keep all my info on file and when hubby is looking for a small gift, he just walks up and tells them my name, they pull out the client book. A few minutes later he walks away with a product that he knows nothing about except that it'll be a perfect fit and I'll love it! Can't live without my MAC!
